In an alternate version of 1984, you play as an outlaw rock band on tour through a totalitarian Republic that is being invaded by body-snatching aliens. What is the one thing that this otherworldly enemy is afraid of? Music.

Each show you play is a tactical, turn-based battle where every riff, bassline, and kickdrum is a spell. Players will also not have to worry about dice rolling or rhythm minigames for combat, and what you choose in battle is how the band members will react. When not in combat, taking care of the band by feeding them, making sure they rest, and managing their hangovers is key to success.

If Sonic Terror sounds like your jam, go ahead and wishlist it on Steam and stay informed for future news ahead of the game's launch on PC and Consoles.

Why We’re Excited

My turn-based-loving heart is so happy. Excited to have yet another unique setting and style of combat in the tactical turn-based space. I know the aliens having one single weakness is nothing new in entertainment, but I am very excited to take these ones down with a sick drum solo.

This game concept of battling aliens with music is such a fresh take on tactical RPGs! It really highlights how sound can drive emotion and strategy simultaneously. I love exploring ways to integrate authentic tracks into gameplay, and having a resource like https://www.tracklib.com/ makes it so much easier to find unique, high-quality samples that elevate the experience. Using https://www.tracklib.com/ has allowed me to experiment with loops and stems that feel alive and dynamic, which is perfect for a music-driven game. It’s amazing how the right sounds can completely transform engagement in interactive storytelling.
