HABROMANIA Demo Preview | We're All Mad Here

There have been many iterations of Lewis Carrol’s classic Alice in Wonderland story. There is another Alice-inspired game on the way from developer Sydney Collings that puts players into the shoes of a slightly older Alice, in HABROMANIA. The game puts a unique spin on the Alice in Wonderland story and its demo, available now, had me totally immersed.

HABROMANIA is an Alice in Wonderland-inspired point and click RPG that follows a 19-year-old Alice who lands in the surreal world of Wonderland with nearly no memory. She’ll have to investigate this unique and strange place, gathering items and solving puzzles in order to escape and hopefully, keep her sanity intact along the way.

At the start of the demo, Alice drops into Wonderland without any memories of how she got there or even who she really is. What she does know is that she needs to get out, but this probably won’t be an easy task. You’ll start out by exploring a few different rooms and quickly start solving puzzles by picking up objects and reuniting them with strange yet beautiful statues in order to unlock a door.

Nearly every element of the demo is steeped in the strange vibe that many of us have come to expect from something based in this universe. Each person and creature has their own unique personality - even objects seem to have personalities too! And the full game promises even more to intrigue the player including branching dialogue and a karma system that determines the fate of the creatures of Wonderland and Alice herself.

The HABROMANIA demo is available now on Steam. The game does not yet have a release date but players can wishlist the game to stay up to date on future news.
