Serenity Forge Reveals New Emotional Narrative Game Return to Ash

Developer and publisher Serenity Forge (Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, Slay the Princess, To the Moon) revealed yesterday a brand new upcoming choice-based visual novel, Return to Ash. The game is set to release next month on July 10th, 2025. 

Return to Ash follows protagonist Ashleigh, a young adult that awakens in the afterlife following a nearly decade-long hospitalization. Ash sets out into the voice to forge bonds with other lost souls and to overcome the trials of Death themself.

Explore a mysterious afterlife and learn about the past lives of fellow souls, making decisions that will shape Ash’s fate. Build relationships with a cast that have their own dreams, regrets and reasons to return to life. 

Return to Ash is set to release on July 10th, 2025 and is available to wishlist on Steam now.
