One of last year's big hits from publisher and co-developer Dotemu, the “rogue ‘em up” Absolum, is celebrating 500,000 copies sold across PC and consoles. During this milestone celebration, the team announced a free update to the game that is coming on February 12th titled Threads of Fate.
In this Threads of Fate update, players can expect the following to await them in the land of Talamh:
An all-new game mode, Mystic Ordeal, which utilizes dozens of modifiers to deliver a steep challenge with surprises and scenarios that boldly contrast from the core adventure
Deadly new post-game dangers - and rewards - in the optional Corrupted Regions you’ll discover while traversing Absolum’s incredible world
Exciting new rewards, mount types, and more, alongside a trove of improvements
If you’re a fan of beat 'em ups, pick up Absolum on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Why We’re Excited
Absolum is one of my favorite games of 2025. The genre mixing and evolution of the beat ‘em up genre with roguelike elements works extremely well, and the game is gorgeous. I will always be a fan of new content coming to games like this to entice players like me to hop back in and challenge themselves. Dotemu is on fire lately, and I'm excited for them to continue to reinvent and expand on what they do best.
