Prequel To A 2020 Hidden Gem - Nostalgic Run and Gun HUNTDOWN: OVERTIME Announced

Easy Trigger has announced a prequel to the 2020 run-and-gun pixel action game HUNTDOWN in HUNTDOWN: OVERTIME.

Players will play as bounty hunter John Sawyer in this fast-paced action roguelite inspired by the VHS-era of action classics. Each run that ends in failure leads you back to the operating table, where Sawyer's flesh is replaced with metal that grants him enhancements to fail less often but more spectacularly on future runs.

The official website states that we can expect HUNTDOWN: OVERTIME to launch on PC via Steam in Early Access in Q2 2026.

Why We're Excited

HUNTDOWN is one of my favorite gaming experiences in the last decade. I proudly own the limited edition physically and proudly display it on my shelf. This prequel seems to continue to match the vibe and era that they are going for perfectly and I am so excited to get my hands on this one at some point this year.
