From developer Shaun Inman comes the lo-fi action adventure Ratcheteer DX, available on Nintendo Switch, Steam via PC and Mac, and the Mac App Store on March 5th.
Ratcheteer DX will have players take the role of a young and inexperienced mechanic who lives underground in a world that has forced humans to shelter and hibernate from a deadly, never-ending winter. The journey begins as a quest to find your mentor’s wrench sets and quickly turns into rescuing friends, foes, and strangers alike.
Find new tools to open up new paths for exploration, take down bosses, and move through this now fully colorized world. This game is an updated version of a 2022 Playdate Season One favorite, Ratcheteer. This new DX version features 4 visual settings (Full Color, Pea Soup Green, Playdate Gray, and High Contrast Black-and-White), a CD-quality stereo soundtrack, and 10 supported languages to enhance the story experience.
Players eager to play can check out a demo on Steam today. For more information on Ratcheteer DX, you can visit the official website.
Why We’re Excited
We love the Playdate handheld and the experiences that are available to play on the little yellow handheld, but getting the titles in additional places for more players to discover them is amazing. We hope that this trend continues and joins Blippo+, Summit: Steps of Solace, and others on other platforms. Plus, who doesn’t love a nostalgic lo-fi action adventure?
