LGBTQ+ Visual Novel and 2D Fighting Game Heatwave Launches Today

Developer Monochromesoft has released their 2D fighting game, Heatwave, on Steam today. The game features multiple fighting styles, characters and assists and is also a visual novel about characters in a distant, post apocalyptic future.

In the game, humanity has been split between Earth, the Moon and the Underworld after apocalyptic heatwaves have made most of Earth uninhabitable. You play as 15+ fighters, learning more about them through a 42 chapter visual novel story mode. 

Players can also check out Arcade, Survival, Local Vs, Combo Trial and more. Additionally there are three unique fighting styles: 

• Speed Mode: A fast, movement and combo based fighting mode, geared towards beginners

• Power Mode: Limited movement and cancels, but a stronger parry, higher damage and special overdrive state to compensate

• Team Mode: Instead of an assist, pick a second character to fight alongside, and gain access to powerful setups and pressure by switching places with them.
