Half Soup Labs, in partnership with publisher Assemble Entertainment, has announced Glintseeker Island, a 2D pixel art mining exploration game with a unique excavation mechanic, procedurally generated caves, challenging bosses, ancient treasures to find, quests from the local villagers, and upgradeable equipment.
The game's mining feature boasts an in-depth game of itself, where instead of holding down buttons to gather ore and gems, players will have to break away rocks strategically to uncover treasures and if they are not careful, the walls will collapse and will walk away with nothing.
If you think you can't handle waiting until 2027 to head to the mines, a playtest is available now on Steam. To stay up to date on all things Glintseeker Island, wishlist on Steam.
Why We're Excited
The trailer grabbed me the moment I saw the grid-like inventory system of the backpack. Ever since experiencing Steamworld Dig and Undermine years ago, I've been a big fan of games that have a mining resources gameplay loop. This one looks like it could be right up my alley.
