SFB Games, the team behind the critically acclaimed Crow Country and Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together!, have announced the follow-up to Tangle Tower and the latest installment into their Detective Grimoire series, The Mermaid Mask is coming to PC and consoles this summer.
The Detective Grimoire series initially started back in 2007 as a flash game on Newgrounds. This detective mystery game and series balances heavy themes with light-hearted humor. In this new installment, players will find themselves in the Mortuga Submarine, submerged in the pitch-black waters beyond a long-abandoned fishing town where the enigmatic captain of the world's strangest submarine has been murdered. Some say he was an immortal time-traveler, others a vampire who was cursed to stay hidden beneath the waves forever.
Collect clues by interrogating the submarine's occupants and solve satisfying puzzles to achieve that light bulb moment. Each character is fully voice acted and hand drawn. The Mermaid Mask sees the return of Edwyn Tiong and Amber Lee Connors as Detective Grimoire and his sidekick, Sally.
If you can't wait to check out this nautical mystery, there is a new demo available now ahead of Steam Next Fest. Players can head to Steam to wishlist the game to stay in the loop.
Why We're Excited
SFB Games make nothing but bangers. Crow Country is one of my favorite gaming experiences of the past few years, and seeing them have a chance to come back to this series, which took a back seat due to Crow Country's surprise success, is very exciting. I have not played the first Detective Grimoire game, but I might make that a priority ahead of this new entry's launch this summer.
