After 3 years of development, developer Cygnus Cross has announced that their debut "Diablo-lite meets Stardew Valley" ARPG Emberville is coming to Steam Early Access this summer.
Emberville is also being co-created with Twitch streamer CohhCarnage which has this to say about the game's announcement: "Emberville is an amalgamation of everything we love, combined with new, fun, and immersive mechanics designed to make it stand out. It’s made by gamers, for gamers. We can’t wait for you to take this journey with us, because it’s been one hell of an adventure over the last few years.”
In addition to the launch window announcement, the team also announced that the talented Alex Jordan and Doug Cockle are voicing yet-to-be-named characters and will be joined by other voice actors to make this fully voiced game come to life.
The game is encouraging players to play their way with the following features:
Unique Multi-layered Combat Mechanics: In addition to the traditional two-button combat system, Emberville features a weapon-bound combo system and class-related combat skills.
Dynamic UI: A User Interface mechanic that changes the HUD in accordance with the player’s needs, making it easier to deal with multiple features without preventing the player from making their own decisions or managing their inventory.
Inherited Skills: Combat skills that are inherited from one leveled-up class to another, allowing the player customize the active combat class.
Fast-paced Combat Mechanics: Action-oriented combat featuring a variety of weapons, skills, and abilities.
Multifaceted Game Progression: Level up weapon and armor categories to unlock new skills, learn and improve gathering and crafting skills, rescue NPCs to rebuild Emberville, and explore the world to uncover hidden treasures and secrets.
Farming, Gathering, and Crafting: Grow crops; gather plants, wood, and minerals; and craft items.
Creative Area: Customize a player area with houses, buildings, and objects that can be used to improve skills, craft items, and relax.
Procedural Generation: Explore the giant procedurally generated world of Emberville, featuring levels with a variety of events, biomes, enemies, treasures, and more.
