ToeJam and Earl Developer's Dancing with Ghosts to Launch Kickstarter on October 7th

During yesterday's Indie Fan, ToeJam and Earl developer Greg Johnson announced that his upcoming story based game, Dancing with Ghosts will have a Kickstarter campaign launching October 7th, 2025 and will also have a brand new demo available during October’s Steam Next Fest starting October 13th. 

After losing her parents, 15-year-old Mai meets Pim, a ghost residing in the Thai river village they both call home. In the game, you’ll help Pim recover her lost memories of life by helping villagers and earning good Karma. Advance the story through minigames, sketching and dancing. 

Dancing with Ghosts was inspired by personal tragedy in Greg Johnson’s life and the culture and traditions of his Thai family. Johnson hopes to represent through gameplay the Thai concept of thamboon - committing good deeds to relieve suffering and lift spirits.

Be sure to check out the demo for Dancing with Ghosts which is available today just ahead of Next Fest. You can jump over to the Kickstarter page on October 7th to support the game which is set to launch on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2026.
