The Writer of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 Has a New Upcoming Novel, Inner Space

Jakub Szamalek, the writer behind The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and narrative director behind the upcoming game The Blood of Dawnwalker, makes his English novel debut with Inner Space. Inner Space is an intense technothriller that explores human ambition, trust and division against the backdrop of the International Space Station. 

Inner Space has been compared to The Martian and Gravity with the novel digging deeper into East-West tensions through the lens of space exploration, creating a story that’s alarmingly timely as it is set just before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The book follows Lucy Poplasky, one of the ISS’s first female commanders, as an ammonia leak sparks suspicion and mistrust between American astronauts and Russian cosmonauts.

When accusations of sabotage are hurled, the crew must confront cultural divisions and personal ambition, all while racing against a deadly ticking clock. Szamalek captures more than the drama of space survival in his novel, he probes the human heart.
