SNES-Inspired JRPG Adventure Shrine's Legacy Heads to PC This October

Positive Concept Games and indie.io have just announced that the classical JRPG inspired by the heyday of 16-bit SNES gaming, Shrine’s Legacy, is set to launch on October 7th, 2025 on Steam. Payable in single and co-op modes, Shrine’s Legacy whisps players away to Ardemia, a magical world under siege from a returning evil.

In Shrine’s Legacy, the Dark Lord Aklor has returned after a centuries-long banishment with minions spreading across the land. Rio, heir to the Sword and a direct descendant of the hero who once banished the evil from the land is ripped out of his idyllic existence as the evil army descends on his village. Saved by the timely intervention of Reima, a mage desperately seeking the Sword.

As Rio and Reima travel across the land, they will see loss, sorrow and grief as Aklor’s army spreads across the world, bringing pain and misery everywhere they go. Embracing it’s JRPG roots, the game combines a complex multilayered story with real time combat and rewarding exploration.

Shrine’s Legacy heads to Steam on October 7th, 2025.
