Point-and-Click Thriller The Drifter Set to Release This July

Indie development duo Powerhoof just announced today that their upcoming fast-paced, point-and-click thriller, The Drifter, is set to release for PC on July 17th, 2025. A Nintendo Switch version of the game is also in development and is set to release later in the year. 

In The Drifter you play as Mick Carter who has been drifting for a while, moving from job to job and never staying in one place for long. Jumping a box car to his old home town, he witnesses a violent murder and is pursued by hi-tech soldiers, thrown into a reservoir and drowned. Just before he passes away, he is thrust back into his body, but is now being framed for the killing that he witnessed. 

Along with the brand new trailer you can watch above, The Drifter has also just launched a new demo on Steam ahead of its participation in Steam Next Fest June 9th - June 16th. 

The Drifter will launch for PC on July 17th, 2025 with a Nintendo Switch release set for later in the year. Check out the demo now on Steam and wishlist the game while you’re there.
