Personal Horror Story VILE: Exhumed Launches July 22nd

Solo developer Final Girl Games and publisher DreadXP have just announced that VILE: Exhumed, the personal horror story that invites reflection, will launch on July 22nd, 2025 on Steam. A confronting exploration of misogyny, parasocial obsession and trauma this is not a game for the faint of heart.

Originally developed as a prototype in 2024, this new full release of the game has players explore the remnants of a stranger’s mind through the decaying interface of an old computer, piecing together the disturbing narrative hidden within corrupted files, old abandoned forums and emails. Every discovery brings you closer to the truth and deeper into the rot of the mind.

VILE invites players to confront the uncomfortable truths about entitled identity and digital voyeurism and the developer hopes that players will carefully reflect on these themes as they play.

VILE: Exhumed is set to launch later this month on July 22nd for PC. You can read our interview with developer Cara Cadaver here and wishlist the game on Steam to stay up to date on future announcements.
