Little Nemo and The Guardians of Slumberland Gets New Gameplay Trailer
Developer DIE SOFT has just unveiled a brand new gameplay trailer for its upcoming 2D metroidvania Little Nemo and The Guardians of Slumberland. This new footage which just aired during the online portion of this year’s The MIX Summer Game Showcase, gives players a much broader look at the games hand-crafted locations. The trailer also includes more of the game’s original soundtrack, composed by Pete Berkman of Anamanaguchi.
Inspired by Winsor McCay’s works, Little Nemo and The Guardians of Slumberland transports you to a colorful and hand-animated world of Nemo’s dreams. Slumberland has been besieged by the mysterious Oblivion, which threatens to destroy this precious world and its inhabitants. You’ll have to push back to stop the Oblivion from spreading and consuming Slumberland.
Players will be able to explore the many domains of Nemo’s dreams and meet with its inhabitants and uncover collectibles. The world’s inhabitants will help guide you through the adventure, but you must always be careful of the strange creatures emerging from the Oblivion.
Little Nemo draws heavily from its NES-era ancestors. The game’s gameplay is designed with approachability and accessibility in mind, but can also scale up to appeal to more experienced metroidvania veterans.
Little Nemo and The Guardians of Slumberland is set to release in Q1 2026. Players can check out the updated demo now available on Steam. You can also wishlist the game on Steam to stay up to date on future announcements.
