Kabuto Park Preview - Look at All These BUGS!
I first played Minami Lane when it came out last year and absolutely loved it. There’s something satisfying about a short little management game. Now, developer Doot and Zakku are back with a bug collecting/battling adventure.
Kabuto Park takes place over a summer filled with bug collecting. Spend a month with main character Hana as she catches bugs and levels them up. She can then choose her special bug team and battle other kids to become the best Summer Beetle Battles champion!
When you go to catch bugs, you’ll be met with a small little mini-game where you have to hit the perfect spot in order to catch the bug. Then, you’ll be able to see the name of your bug and the size. From there, you can decide if you’d like to add it to your special team and get it ready for battle.
The more bugs you collect the more abilities you’ll have when you get ready for battle. Battles take place on a game board of sorts where your team of bugs is put up against your opponents. Your goal is to knock all of your opponents off of the board while they try to do the same. You’ll be able to help move your bugs forward using cards that you’ll collect and choose based on the bugs on your team. There are also a few other things that you can do, like visit the shop and level up your bugs to make them even more powerful!
The best (and worst) part about Kabuto Park is that it should only take about 2 to 4 hours to complete the full version of the game. Players can take their time collecting bugs at their own pace, but it is meant to be a small, bite-sized experience. The full version of the game will feature 40 cool bug species to find!
Kabuto Park is an adorable bite-sized adventure and I can’t wait to play the full version. You can wishlist the game on Steam right now and grab the full game on May 28th!
