Highly Anticipated Climbing Game Cairn Has Been Delayed to Next Year But Has a New Demo Update On the Way

Indie developers The Game Bakers announced today that the upcoming climbing game Cairn, has been delayed to Q1 2026. This decision was  made to ensure Cairn is at its best at launch and delivers the best experience for players.

Currently, The Game Bakers report that Cairn is content complete and the extra months will be spent on optimization, debugging and polishing.

To help players with their wait, starting on October 13th, Cairn’s demo will be receiving an update. For a limited time climbers will see ghosts of other players climbing alongside them on Mount Tenzen. Ghosts of speedrunners, community and team members will let them race against the best, check new techniques or discover new routes and hidden areas.

Cairn is now set to launch for PC and PlayStation 5 in Q1 2026. Players can wishlist the game now and check out the current demo, or jump in on the 13th to experience the newly updated version of the demo.
