Get Up to Wizardy Mischief in 2D Action Roguelike Folly of the Wizard Coming Later This Month

Numskull Games just announced that its 2D action roguelike Folly of the Wizard will launch on September 19th, 2025. Play as a plucky wizards’ apprentice learning the arcane arts as they rise through the ranks of a shadowy wizarding cult - armed with their wits and some extremely unstable magical abilities. 

Folly of the Wizard is a 2D magic roguelike that throws players into procedurally generated dungeons full of enemies, magical mishaps and plenty of slapstick sorcery. Cast spells, navigate traps and platforms through 10 regions filled with secrets, surprises and cultish chaos. 

No runs will ever be quite the same as players must keep their wits about them to make it out alive. Whether you’re befriending or betraying powerful wizards, collecting over 100 unique items or accidentally blowing yourself up, the game offers fun and silly action. 

The game will also be available physically with retailers world wide and includes: an art book, the game’s soundtrack CD, and a pack of 53 playing cards featuring characters, creatures and spells, The digital Collector’s Edition includes the game, official soundtrack and artbook.
