Angeline Era Preview | Enter a World of Fae, Humans and Angels
Lately, I’ve really loved the resurgence of retro-style games. I know this isn’t something necessarily new, but it’s pretty new to me and it floods my mind with memories of better times. Times like, when our PlayStation 1 was so old we had to turn it upside down to get it to work and I had to share a desktop with my entire family. Angeline Era from developers Melos Han-Tani, Marina Kittaka, and Analgesic Productions gives me that same lovely bit of nostalgia in this action adventure hack-and-slash game.
In the game, you’ll explore a world of Fae, Humans and Angels. The Angel’s mothership, Throne, lays dormant behind a fierce storm. In order to reach it, you must unlock its secrets by exploring the land of Era. Overcome intense battles and hazards in a world full of betrayal, haunting lore and fruitless yearning.
In Angeline Era you play as Tets, a human adventurer who is a master at the Art of Bumpslash. In the game, simply bump into enemies to attack them. You’ll have to test your skills in order to fend off foes both weak and powerful. Not only that, but Era is filled with traps you’ll have to cleverly avoid while taking out many enemies.
Woven from Irish mythology, early Christian philosophy and Japanese American history, Angeline Era’s story is what fuels you to continue your adventure. The story here is truly intriguing and barely gives you more than a glimpse into what you can expect in the main adventure. As you progress you’ll piece together the history of this diverse world during its 8-20+ hour experience.
Angeline Era does not yet have a release date but you can check out the demo on Steam now and be sure to wishlist it to stay up to date on future announcements.
